After our last rehearsal, Korrina (SM par excellence) said to me, “Can you believe how much we’ve done in just ten days?” I had to agree. Most of our principals have worked with Jad Bernardo (MD par excellence) and we’ve done a fair amount of scene work. Runyonland is on its feet thanks to Korrina. Our young actors and the boy chorus are well on their way thanks to Brian C. Jones. What, you might ask, am I doing? Well, aside from mulling over the rehearsal schedule until 2:00 a.m. this week, I’m smiling and waving while I get my nails done, eat bonbons and admire these fine young actors. Honestly, the speed with which they absorb the material is astounding. Kate remembered the choreography from the workshops. Emily had her lyrics memorized before we got to that part of rehearsal. The relationship between Nathan and Adelaide is coming along. Our Sky, although down with the flu, is going to be amazing. I couldn’t be happier, and yet, I despair. With so much talent and enthusiasm from the actors as well as dedication and capability from our stage manager and interns, what else is there for me to do except point and smile? Honestly . . . . I’m practically out of a job!!!!!!
