It’s hard to believe that we will be opening in one week. We just came out of the mid-show slump and then–boom!–we’re ready to open. Well. . . .almost ready. We still have work to do. Like a souffle, timing is everything. We don’t want to peak too early and then have a flat opening. We don’t want to peak too late and have a flat opening. It has to be “just right” and that’s where we’re headed. This is so much fun. Unless one has put a lot of effort into a project, one misses the joy and anticipation of seeing it come to fruition. At some point in every show I think that a nice little igloo on an arctic landscape might be fun, but then I remember the joy of opening a show and I dive right back into the work.
We have been so fortunate in our cast, our technical team and our creative team on this show. We have a delightful, dedicated team of artists at work and I think you’ll find the result amazing. I’m so excited. Without giving anything away. . . the rain curtains arrive today!
We live in a “last minute” society and our ticket sales reflect that. If you are one of those people who will “get your tickets at the door”, consider that it’s best to plan ahead to guarantee your seat. This could be a hot ticket! See you there!
