Yes! We made it . . . and it’s a beautiful show. I sat watching the last tech/dress rehearsal thinking “How did this happen?” When did it all begin? It seems like a dream. Then I snapped out of it and began admiring the sets, the lights, the actors, the choreography, the costumes, the music and then settled back on the sets. My favorite set is the interior of the mission but then I get distracted by the excitement of Broadway and the glitz of the Hot Box Club. I no longer worry about the timing of the crapshooter scenes or the underlying tension between Sarah and Sky. I am swept up in theater magic when night becomes day becomes dusk in a flash and Havana is an easy dinner date commute from the fabled Runyonland, a la New York City. I’m transfixed by the studied speech patterns of these well-clad gamesters and their darling dolls. I can’t wait until tonight when we share this with our audiences. You should come!
