After talking, dreaming and nudging myself, I am one day away from casting Guys & Dolls. What say you? Why so long? Well. . . I have 25 people to look at and carefully piece together a puzzle that will enhance each one of those 25. We sing one new boy tomorrow and hear another sing with him, then it’s done! Voila! The girls and I can then hit the town, see the trees, take in some films, including Les Mis, see some shows, bake and cook. I can’t wait! Friday night we’re trimming the tree in our lobby then going to a Winter Solstice party in the village. If the world doesn’t end–did the Mayan clerk simply get off-task?–we’ll have a lovely, quiet Christmas at home. I’ve always thought of ourselves as being of the “no place like home for the holidays” ilk.
Anyway, we are going to have a great show. With a stellar script with fabulous music, our bright interns, a fabulous costume designer and a wonderful parent base, there is simply no other option. Happy Holidays to you all. I’m down until we start production on January 7th.
